We are very lucky to be able to work in the offices of Middle River Farm. The view is constantly changing and the air is mostly fresh(we have become accustomed to the smell of manure) We do treasure the time we are able to spend with friends. Recently we had dinner with some folks who had many questions about what we do and even participated in some of the chores that had to be done(at 10:00pm). We appreciated their help of course but also love to talk about what we do. The more information we can pass along about how we raise your food, the better. We appreciate that not everyone has access to be able to see the process of growing your eats. The more that you question about your food, the more your food source is accountable. I know I've said this many times, and here I go again. When you purchase locally you are voting for better quality, sustainability and food security. Kudos to all those that question!
One of the questions that came up at the dinner at the dinner table is a hard one. How can you take care of an animal, have a relationship with it and ship it to a processer? Simple answer. It is very hard! Yes we have done all of the aforementioned, but we believe that we have given them the best life that we could and more than appreciate what they give back to us. It is with this belief that we maintain our values in providing top quality food for your families and ours.
